Biography:

Coach Derrick Cooper (UMFK 04') returns to the Men's Basketball Coaching Staff for his third season while he joins Coach Lucas Levesque as a first year women's soccer assistant in 2009.  Coach Cooper has been involved in all levels of both basketball and soccer since his graduation from UMFK where he was a standout two sport star in both sports.

Coach Cooper was a star back at UMFK in men's soccer and team captain as a point guard for Coach Werntgen's Bengals.  He assists both programs in all aspects of the respective team operations.  Coach Cooper has many close ties within Aroostook County having played three sports for Madawaska High School in his native Madawaska, Maine located just twenty minutes from Fort Kent.
