UMFK, pictured here in a Sept. 2 win over Holland College, lost for just the second time in its last 37 games, 2-0 to Daemen
Daemen College scored twice in a six minute span of the second half (59’ & 65’) to take a 2-0 decision over the UMFK women’s soccer team in a rematch of the 2012 USCAA Championship game from Amherst, New York. UMFK (2-1) took their first loss of the year and Daemen is the only team to beat the Lady Bengals in the last 37 matches with the other coming at the hands of the Wildcats 1-0 in last year’s USCAA Championship game.
Both Daemen goals game off corner kicks. UMFK outshot DC 12-8 and 10-6 overall but Wildcat keeper Kathryn Haessner recorded ten saves for the shutout. Senior keeper Kimika Forbes (Trinidad & Tobago) made four saves in the loss for UMFK.
