The University of Maine at Fort Kent intercollegiate athletics program finished in fourteenth place in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Director’s Cup Final Standings released by the USCAA National Office in Newport News, Virginia June 14, 2012.

The UMFK Bengals, the northern most USCAA member institution in the continental United States, sponsors USCAA recognized championship sports of men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball. This year's winners of the directors cup, Lindenwood Belleville sponsors 23 sports recognized by the USCAA.
The UMFK men’s basketball team reached the USCAA Elite Eight in March, the men’s soccer team reached the USCAA Final Four this past fall and the women’s soccer team took home their second straight USCAA National Championship.
