Tuesday, February 7, 2012 • Presque Isle, Maine

The UMFK men's basketball team won their seventh straight game defeating Aroostook County USCAA rivals U-Maine Presque Isle 75-64 Tuesday night in Presque Isle, Maine.  The two teams will meet again Friday February 10 in Fort Kent at 7:30pm.

On Tuesday night in Presque Isle in front of a spirited UMPI crowd, UMFK tri-captains rose to the occasion to help carry the Bengals to the win.   Jeremy Thomas and Othniel Hyliger scored 17 points a piece to pace the Bengals and Manny Odugbela added 15.  The game was a make-up from a postponed game back on January 27th due to snow.

UMFK used a 13-6 run late in the first half to build a 15-point lead at the half (38-23).  UMFK then built a 20-point lead (56-36) midway through the second half but UMPI (3-13) continued to battle cutting the lead to eleven with 1:08 to play (72-61).  The Owls were led by Patrick Manifold's 21 point, 15 rebound performance.
