The Maine Fort Kent women's volleyball team lost their second straight match to St. Thomas University 3-0 Sunday in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The loss drops UMFK to 9-7 on the season.
The host Tommies proved too much for UMFK as they swept three straight sets for the second straight day 25-12, 25-22 and 25-6. UMFK battled through a tough second set but ran out of gas as they played their second match in less than 10 hours having lost 3-0 to STU Saturday night. Amber Garrison (Oroville, Calif.) turned in another solid match with a team-high 14 assists while Senior Ashley Ames (Dexter, ME) had six killls. Maliesha Caesar (Cayon, St. Kitts) continued her improved play with a team best seven digs on the day.
The Lady Bengals will now have a free weekend as they prepare for the Sunrise Conference Championships at Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine Saturday November 14.
